What is Goiardi?
Goiardi is an implementation of the Chef server written in Go. It can run entirely in memory (with optional persistence on disk) or can use MySQL or Postgres as a backend, is self-contained, and runs on many different platforms.
The current version of goiardi, 0.11.10, is comparable to the Open Source Chef Server version 11, and includes some functionality not found in the Open Source Chef Server, like reporting, event logging, and push (or "shovey") jobs. Goiardi version 1.0.0, currently in development, will get goiardi up to speed with the recent release of Chef Server 12, which brings the features formerly found only in Enterprise Chef to the open source version.
